3D Printed Guns (Documentary)

Cody R Wilson has figured out how to print a semi-automatic rifle from the comfort of his own home. Now he's putting all the information online so that others will join him. -- This is a story about the rapid evolution of a technology that has forced the American legal system to play catch up. Cody Wilson, a 25-year-old University of Texas Law student, is an advocate for the open source production of firearms using 3D printing technology. This makes him a highly controversial figure on both sides of the gun control issue. MOTHERBOARD sat down with Cody in Austin, Texas to talk about the constitution, the legal system, and to watch him make and test-fire a 3D-printed gun.

World's First 3D Color X-Rays of Human Body Produced Using CERN Technology

Researchers have engineered a bio scanner capable of showcasing the human body's bones, lipids, tissues and disease markers.   Mars Bioimaging There is great news for medical professionals relying on the use of X-ray pictures! A new bioimaging technique using a sensor chip developed by the European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN has resulted in the creation of a scanner that can produce 3D color X-rays of the human body. Source:  Mars Bioimaging These new impressive, yet freaky images, have the ability to clearly showcase the details of a patient's bones, lipids, and soft tissue as well as other elements such as disease markers. The X-rays have the potential to allow doctors in the future to detect health conditions along with bone damage. A new form of X-ray scanning The bio scanner is the work of New-Zealand company  Mars Bioimaging . The firm made use of a CERN technology called Medipix3 to engineer a new high-performance form of X-ray scanning

From beautiful and unbelievable instruments that actually work to even things like an incredible 3D printed pizza made by NASA! Subscribe to Talltanic # 10 3D-Printed Ear You’ve seen 3D printing make fashion garments and body prosthetics, so it’s not too much of a leap to imagine a 3D printed organ. Scientists at Princeton University designed this bionic ear that can actually hear even better than human ears. The 3D printed cells and nanoparticles with a small coil antenna create the cyber ear that can be installed onto a real human and hear radio frequencies a million times higher than our own ears. # 9 3D-Printed Cast Jake Evill was a recent graduate of Victoria University when he broke his hand and was stuck with an arm cast that he found “archaic.” So he designed a cast for the millennial: a 3D printed, lightweight, washable, and breathable. It lets in air and prevents that age-old feeling of gross itchiness and suffocation the usual plaster casts come with. Plus, they just

Design: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:912478 There was quite a bit of stringing, but a round with the heat gun it should be much better. Pictures were taken with GoPro 4 Music: I had to change the music after demands from the copyright holder. I find that kind of strange since they got all the ad revenue from this video in the first place. But I guess the music industry works in mysterious ways.
